2001 - Slacking

2001 is a big goal oriented year! Joe and I are planning to climb Black Crack (a 5.9+) at Annapolis Rocks. Also, in June we are flying to Washington state to climb our first mountain, Mt. Rainier. I bought a VersaClimber and started using it pretty regularly.

I signed up for a seconding class at Seneca Rocks, WV. It is 2 days long in April. I am pretty excited since I have not done any lead climbing to this date. I already own all of the essential traditional protection so the next obvious move would be... Use it! Anyway, Joe and I may not be climbing Rainier after all. It appears as though it takes an act of God to get a guide. Since we haven't climb any mountains yet, we thought it best to hire a professional to help us up the mountain. Perhaps we will find an available guide. Only time will tell.

We (Joe, Larry, and I) went to Seneca Rocks last Tuesday and Wednesday and took the intermediate seconding class. It was AWESOME!!! This was our first time to Seneca Rocks, WV. 2001 was supposed to be the "big year." Unfortunately, everytime one of our "crew" wanted to climb, the others could not make it. We had planned to knock all kinds of goals out this season and failed miserably. At least we did make it to Seneca Rocks... We are already starting to plan next seasons big comeback!
